Queen Margrethe goes to the opera
You can't really see it very well, but the tiny little black car in the very centre is parked next to a very tall woman with a black hat. She is Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, and the car very nearly sent me and my bicycle off of the bridge and into the canal. I guess it's one of the perils of living in Denmark ; no neon yellow-and-orange coloured escort cars with blue flashing lights and whooping sirens, driven by RayBan-wearing sharp-shooting protection detail policemen for Queen Margrethe - she instead turns up in a gently purring and beautifully polished black Silver Wraith II, relying on the driving skills of her trusty chauffeur to keep her out of trouble. I think the other guy, in the passenger seat, was only there to get out of the car to fastidiously dislodge the remains of the more troublesome roadkilled cyclists from the car's immaculate grille and give it a restorative polish from time to time.Posted by daen at January 27, 2005 11:55 PM
